The Easter school holidays are on the horizon and there’s a huge array of activities for families to take part in. These include a range of events at the Centre for Alternative Technology (CAT) in Machynlleth, Wales. Easter Events at the Centre for Alternative Technology in 2023
A new quarry walk is opening at CAT later this summer. Giving schools the chance to gain an insight into the plants and animals on sit. As they explore changing land use patterns. This is the perfect opportunity for pupils to learn more about a range of on-site species, including dormice and lesser horseshoe bats.
Architectural spectrum
An RSAW Spring Conference is taking place at CAT on 27 April. This full day conference will welcome RIBA award-winning speakers from across the architectural spectrum to deliver talks and workshops designed to inform and inspire delegates. The event is free to attend and refreshments will be provided throughout the day.
Architecture and renewable energy
CAT is the ideal venue for research in sustainable architecture and renewable energy, with over 40 years? Practical experience and many working examples of building methods and renewable technologies on site. Currently over 1,800 students have completed postgraduate awards at CAT. They go on to work in a wide variety of sectors from sustainable design to environmental policy. And land management, with many running their own businesses or setting up after they graduate.
Easter Fun at Rhodian Castle
Easter Fun at Rhodian Castle (09 April) and Blaenavon. Ironworks (07 – 14 April) have plenty of fun activities for children, from an Easter Egg. Trail with an egg prize to decorating a biscuit and hearing local legends brought to life by a published author. The DR John Davies Malley Tour and Owen Glyndwr and Machynlleth tour are also taking place over the Easter weekend, where you can discover the stories of two illustrious Mid Wales figures.
The Great Easter Experience at Manorafon Farm Park, Abergele, North Wales
From 01 – 09 April 2023, join the team at Manorafon for a family-friendly day of fun, activities and games. Meet the Easter Bunny and claim a treat, plant carrot seeds and even get a petting session with baby rabbits.
The ‘Peter Rabbit(tm) Easter Adventure? takes over London’s Covent Garden from 21st March – 16th April 2023, with a live, immersive outdoor experience based on the famous Beatrix Potter story. Follow the clues to search for secret notes, maps and other clues accompanied by Peter Rabbit.
LEGO City Minifigure Easter Missions at both Manchester and Birmingham Discovery Centers
From 2nd – 8th April, kids can get in on the action with an epic LEGO City Minifigure Easter Mission at all LEGOLAND Discovery Centres in the UK.
